Construction Work Detour
I-494 weekend closure May 30 – June 2
If you are traveling on I-494 through Richfield and Bloomington Fri, May 30 through Mon, June 2 you can expect a full closure of I-494 between Hwy 100 and Hwy 77.
Beginning 10 p.m. Fri, May 30, I-494 will be closed in both directions between Hwy 100 and Hwy 77 through 5 a.m. Mon, June 2. This weekend closure is necessary to allow crews to complete the pedestrian bridge over I-494 near Chicago Ave. and remove the Portland Ave. bridge.
Please use the following detours to bypass the closure:
- Eastbound I-494 detour: Northbound Hwy 100 to eastbound Hwy 62 to southbound Hwy 77 to eastbound I-494
- Westbound I-494 detour: Northbound Hwy 77 to westbound Hwy 62 to southbound Hwy 100 to westbound I-494
All ramps on I-494 between Hwy 100 and Hwy 77 will also be closed during this time. Please visit the project webpage for a full list of ramp closures and detours.
